I was just going through some old pictures in the camera, when I realized I totally forgot to post this little gem! The weather last September to October was much warmer than it is now, and ice cream was constantly on my mind. My friend told me about this quaint little shop named Bang Bang Ice Cream & Bakery in the Ossington area, so Joseph and I wanted to check it out. Anything for a sweet treat, right?
The lineup was loooooooonnnnng, like 30 minutes long, so make sure your phones are well charged to spend the time. Also there wasn’t any well-lit signage for the store, but judging by the crowd it wasn’t too hard to miss this place.
Since we spent quite some time in line, we decided to make it worth our trip and wanted to order four 1/2 ice cream sandwiches to go. Actually everything is to-go, because there aren’t any chairs or tables inside the store. There are a few benches outside, but they’re likely occupied. Although we could spot the menu on the wall, we wish they would’ve posted ice cream flavours or cookie flavours right beside it as well so we could plan ahead. Instead, you have to wait your turn to get to the glass counter to look at all the cookies, which made the wait feel even longer. But maybe that’s changed by now…
Thankfully you can identify which ice cream flavours are available if the name shows up on the ice cream bucket wall (the bucket is turned around if it’s not available at that moment).
I spy with my little eye… a Homer Simpson!
Sample display near the glass counter means you’re inching closer to the finish line!
Sample display from right to left: 1/2 ice cream sandwich, full ice cream sandwich, ice cream puff, hong kong waffle.
The other goodies for sale.
Cookie flavours!
I wish I could say I remember everything that we ordered… but I really can’t (sorry)! I do know there was a Captain Peanut Cookie and an Everything Cookie (so that’s 2 out of the 4 here). However, it’s definitely ingrained in my mind that I thought all of the ice cream flavours were absolutely fantastic and clearly made fresh in house (we ordered London Fog, Burnt Toffee, with Black Tea being my fav). The only difference is I would have preferred a softer chewier cookie to pair with the awesome ice cream; the cookies were too hard and crunchy for my liking. Either way the ice cream flavours were very unique and next time we’re gonna have to buy a couple pints to take home! 🙂
Cheers,
Melissa
