No, it’s not that Eiffel Tower but a 1:2 replica of the real thing. You need to take a special access elevator inside the Paris hotel to get to this restaurant, and from there be sure to request a table facing the Bellagio fountains (the water show appears nightly every 15 minutes). Reservations are advised because this place is packed! We first came here for dinner in Sept 2012 and had such a memorable experience we had to return.
Chef’s amuse bouche, on the house
The waiters present a bread tray with no less than 6 different varieties to you, and you get to select whichever ones you want. This time we tried the multigrain bun, and it was sweet and nutty. Our waiter was excellent, but we were unimpressed with our server (or was he called captain?). Anyway, more on that later.
Wild halibut with glazed carrots and peas (the fish was really flaky)
Steak for the meat-lover
Side of asparagus (wish we had skipped this – too oily)
Side of creamy spinach (note to self: skip this next time – also too oily)
So, a side story about the sides ($10 each): originally our game plane was to eat a light meal to save room and then gorge ourselves with every flavour of souffle they had (six in total). We ordered one fish and one steak dish and didn’t plan for any additional dishes of veggies because, for example, the halibut already came complete with carrots and peas. However, our sneaky server phrased it in such a way that we thought the sides were part of the main: “and what are your sides?” instead of “would you like any sides with that?” So the moral of the story is always ask if the sides are included in the price! It’s not about the money, because if that were the case then we wouldn’t have overindulged in dessert. It’s the principle. His attitude and service were poor when we didn’t order any appetizers and only one of us ordered wine (re: game plan), but it was a complete 360 when he took our order for all those souffles; he then came catering to us in Mandarin even though 1) we don’t speak Mandarin, and 2) he’s not Asian! Jay-Z would not be proud.
Regardless, the souffles ($16 each) were delicious: chocolate, strawberry, pistachio, grand marnier, caramel, and banana. First they brought the souffles over, and then they cracked open the tops and poured the flavours inside. We tried the banana souffle back in 2012 and it was so delicious it the sole reason for our return. Now that we’ve tried them all we can confidently say that banana IS our favourite one of all. The chocolate was too over powering, and strawberry tasted very artificial. Caramel was very sweet, pistachio felt as if it had alcohol in it, and grand marnier tasted like orange. The chefs need 30 minutes to prepare them, so don’t forget to place your order before you finish your meal!
Caramel souffle
After dinner, for a $15 fee, if you ride to the top of the Eiffel Tower you get to see the strip from an observatory deck. Completely worth your while!
Melissa & Joseph!
What a GREAT website you have! I found it a few hours ago and I can’t stop reading and watching your photos. I’ll be travelling to Vegas in a few weeks and you have helped me a lot with your reviews.
Thanks a lot!
Leslie
Hi Leslie,
Thank you kindly, we’re really glad we could help! Vegas has such a great selection of restaurants, so it’s always difficult to choose where to spend breakfast, lunch, and dinner (if only we could eat 10 meals a day)! Stay tuned as we’ll be adding more posts about this Sinfully Delicious City. đ
Happy planning!
