Joseph and I went back to Splendido for the first time since our engagement in June, and the food was just as amazing as the last. Brunch was fantastic!
“The Spread” was a nice start to our morning: plain croissant, chocolate croissant, scone and bread accompanied by cheese, butter, whipped cream cheese, cured ham, terrine (similar to pate), pickles, olives, pickled radishes, and sweet preserves aka jam. For $35 per person, it comes with the spread you see here along with one other entree per person. For drinks (ordered left to right) we had the Lucky Luciano (orange juice, ginger beer, vanilla & black walnut bitters), which we found very fruity and refreshing, as well as The Virgin, The Serpent & The Apple (mulled apple cider, orgeat, cinnamon, vanilla), which was sweeter in comparison.
The pain au chocolate was deliciously chocolatey, although we wish the crust was crispier and flakier.
Raisin scone: eat me!
Open face lobster sandwich with black pepper & lime potato chips.
Thin, crispy chips.
Heaps of lobster for breakfast (a dream come true).
French toast with brioche bread with lemon mascarpone, bananas foster, and vanilla anglaise sauce. The lemon taste really came through, and added a delicate lightness to the delicious syrup.
You have to eat here!
